The Interrogation From Hell

"Seizonsha, I've been meaning to talk with you about this," Tsunade sighed pushing her paper work aside as you took a seat infront of her, "but I thought it would be best to wait until your recovery."

The door shut silently behind you, making gossbumps crawl across your skin. Alone with the fith hokage that didn't like you as it is who just so happened to have inhuman strength was just a little unsettling. Taking a quick glance at the door, you secretly wished you would see Sasuke leaning casually against it. Even just him being there was just a small comfort. You would have a witness at least if she tried to murder you. Of course Sasuke Uchiha wasn't there though.

"There has been rumors of a mystery teen wandering around for quite some time." She stated calmly, lacing her fingers under her chin to glower down at you.

The evil glint in her eye made you grip the arms of the chair until your nails dug into the woodened surface. You did various rebelous things in the past. Some you were sure would get you decapitated. Even though you might have your reasons.

"The descriptions fit you perfectly." She leaned back in her chair, shuffling files of papers, "Small frame, golden eyes, short tattered hair." Tsunade eyes bore deeply into your own making me feel guilt knaw on my insides. "And her speed was her signature move, the stealth of an assassin."

A low growl emitted from the back of your throat. At first you didn't think she would hear it, but the satisfied smirk across her lips prove you wrong.

"So I have a feeling I hit the nail on the head, then." Tsunade grinned mischievously, leaning forward. "But who, might I ask, were you working for?"

The silence you gave in return was not greatly appretiated to Tsunade, but she managed to only frown. You watched her set the stack of papers down on her desk with a sigh.

"I could only wonder though, how a twelve year old genin from Konoha would end up down a road like that."

Again, you said nothing. This time it wasn't because you didn't want to, it was because you couldn't. Eyes finding the floor more interesting, your heart clenched in memory of your life after you 'died'. When you glanced back up, the expression on Tsunade's face had softened.

Almost in pity.

Desperate to change the expression, you changed my mind about talking, "Just wanted to fit in?" You answered unsurely, "You know how our teenage years are..."

"Damnit, Seizonsha!" Tsunade snapped, tossing her composure out the window. "Don't get smart with me."

"Well you did ask..."

"That is besides the point, Seizonsha."

Cringing at the name you held back a glare, "Stop calling me that." You muttered under your breath while fixating your eyes on her mug of coffee.

There was a huff as your eyes stared transfixed at the cup, trying to mentaly fight off memories of your full name. There was a feeling, deep in your abdomen, making you crinkle your nose in disgust. You swallowed the lump in your throat to meet the Gaidome's confused gaze.

You racked your brain for an excuse for a cringing face. "I hate coffee..."

Whether the fifth bought it or not, she continued where she left off. "So I'm assuming your not going to give me the answers I'm expecting."

When you didn't reply, instead of throwing a tantrum again, Tsunade let out a heavy exhale. As if trying to calm herself down, she then closed her eyes and rubbed her temples in irritation. As your gaze flickered back to hers, you almost jumped out of your seat. The intensity of her stare made you squirm. It gave you the feeling that she was trying to see right through you. Like she didn't by a single word you were saying and looking for true answers somewhere in the depths of your hazel hues. Well, I'm just telling the truth in my own way...that counts, right?

"Seizon-" The fifth paused now noticing your wincing face, "-Taira, you can't try to sneak yourself out of this one."

Oh, darn... Thinking to yourself how lame this was getting lectured for something that happened in the past, you turned your attention to the arm of the chair. The wood was carved out in grooves shaped like your finger. Great, just another thing she'll get mad about. You absently picked at it while listening to Tsunade bicker.

"Your crimes are unacceptable." The hokage continued on while you listened intently failing to distract yourself with the task of the chair handle. "Murder, torture, faking a death, betraying your own village." Tsunade stopped to let the words sink in, "Killing your own family member.." She spoke the last words in a mere whisper. Why? To piss you off thats why.

Before a single retort could excape your mouth, another voice beat you to it.

"But Seizonsha Taira was no where on file at the time." You whipped your head around so fast you were shocked it didn't break. "Seizonsha Taira was dead during this time period."

Sasuke...

"She has no reportings from any other villages." The Uchiha was seriously trying to help you wasn't he? "You can't punish someone who didn't do anything, am I right?"

For some unknown reason, you had the feeling these two had a history. Not just a Hokage and a shinobi relationship, but something more lethal. The glint you saw in Sasuke's eyes made him seem cocky as if mocking something The Gaidome once said. She didn't like this one bit.

"Sasuke Uchiha," Tsunade spat visciously, "You lucky you are even alive right now. I suggest you bite your tongue." She stopped to take a glance at you as if you were in on this before catching Sasuke's eyes again with her own narrowed ones, "Before I rip it out myself."

So, now you were possitive there was something going on here. Why was Sasuke supposed to die? The tension in the air, you could have sworn, was thick enough to cut. You wanted to shrink back in your chair when she looked at you again, but remained a decent posture.

"Seizonsha Taira," The hokage of Konoha began with a shocking amount of malice dripping on every word, "I sentence you one year on probation."

Your gaze grew hard, awaiting the details of this restriction.

"This means no missions, exiting the village at any cost, chakra usage, privacy, or trust from any of the council."

Wanting to protest, Tsuande stopped you before you made her fury drive her over the edge. She began counting things off with her finger.

After the first two weeks you are to come back to me for further questioning that may get you out of trouble." She leaned over the table and you could have sworn on your life you saw fire raging in those eyes. "And I'll be damned if you don't give me answers that I want."

The only thing that came to your mind right now was...bitch.

"Do I make myself clear?"

Meekly nodding, you shot out of your chair and soon out of the room.

Once the door was safely closed behind you, you let out a breath you didn't know you were holding. You felt like you were fighting for your life in there. You were so thankful Sasuke saved your ass, you could hug him till his spine splits in two. But, you weren't going to do that anytime soon. You merely glanced up at him with eyes softened in contentment.

Thank you The untold words hung in the air.

Sasuke caught on quickly and simply nodded his head in understanding.

Understanding...

Cocking your head in wonder, you couldn't help but ponder on him. He was similar to you in so many ways and yet not at all. There was such an aura of mystery about him it made you want to figure him out all the more. What did Sasuke Uchiha do to be wished dead by a Hokage?

Then, something clicked in your head as Sasuke and you were exiting the Hokage tower. The first block of walking with this weight over your shoulders was fine. But as the minutes ticked by and Sasuke trailed behind you, the nagging voice inside your head insisted you let it out! "Sasuke..." Came your sudden outburst as you whirled around.

Now, you would have said what you were going to say and cross your fingers in hopes he would understand. Unfortunately, it was hard to do anything when Sasuke Uchiha was only a breath away from your face.

For some reason, the thought of moving back into a comfortable distance never crossed your mind. "I...just..." It's funny how you were thinking about announcing your problem for nearly ten minutes, yet now all your words just slip away. "...um..."

Sasuke's dark eyes narrowed in on yours, making a faint tinge of pink across your cheeks. The slight curl of the Uchiha's lip was enough to snap back to reality. You huffed, blowing a few stray strands of hair from Sasuke's face. Then you quickly turned on your heel on your way into town.

"...nevermind."
